The MSC Series of Collectors are made with a more robust frame using I-Beam Construction with a wall thickness of .093. Also has an Anodized frame which is better for Ocean/Salt Water environments. For Hawaii code the MSC collector is required.

Morning Star™ Specifications

• Glazing: 1 sheet of low iron tempered glass, 1/8” thick with 0.01% iron oxide content. (5/32” on MSC-40) Transmittance: 91.0%
• Glazing Gasket: EPDM Channel with molded corners.
• Insulation: 1-¼” Foil-faced poly-isocyanurate board insulation with 10 mil binderless glass mat barrier between insulation and absorber plate. (R-10). ¾” Foil-faced poly-isocyanurate board in sidewalls and under headers. (R-6).
• Frame Wall and Batten: 6063 T5 Aluminum extrusion (1/8” wall) anodized bronze finish. Anodized bronze integral mounting system.
• Backsheet: 0.025 stucco embossed aluminum sheet MB-40 bronze, pop-riveted to frame wall receiver edge.
• Fasteners: Aluminum and 18-8 stainless steel, black oxide coated for aesthetics.
• Absorber Plate: Exclusively manufactured by Thermafin Manufacturing. All copper fin and tube construction. High frequency forge welded for permanent bond between tube and sheet. No soldered or crimped joints to fair from expansion and contraction. 30 year warranty on fin-to-tube joint.
• Absorber Coating: Crystal Clear Absorptivity: ~ 0.97
  Emissivity: ~ 0.07
• Individually Leak Tested At: 125 PSI
• Design Life: 30 Years
• Flow Rate: 0.5 to 1.8 GPM recommended
