80W Polycrystalline PV Module

The BP 380 photovoltaic module provides superior value and performance for residential, commercial and industrial use, operating DC loads directly or, in an inverter-equipped system, AC loads. Its 36 enhanced-efficiency multicrystalline silicon cells in series charge 12-volt batteries efficiently in virtually any climate. With 80 watts of nominal maximum power, it is wellsuited to utility grid-supplemental systems and traditional applications of photovoltaics such as telecommunications, remote villages and clinics, water pumping, and land-based aids to navigation. Modules use our Universal frame, the strongest in the industry.

J-Version junction box with 6-terminal connection block; IP 65, accepts PG 13.5, M20, ½ inch conduit, or cable fittings accepting 6-12mm diameter cable. Terminals accept 2.5 to 10mm2 (8 to 14 AWG) wire.

Proven Materials and Construction

BP Solar’s quarter-century of field experience shows in every aspect of this module’s construction and materials:

• 36 multicrystalline silicon solar cells in series, efficiency enhanced by improved cell coating;
• Cells are laminated between sheets of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) and high-transmissivity low-iron 3mm tempered glass;
• Frame strength exceeds requirements of certifying agencies.

BP 380U output is via our Type A junction box. This junction box is raintight (IP54 rated) and accepts PG13.5 or 1/2" nominal conduit or cable fittings. Its volume (411cc, 25 cubic inches) and 6-terminal connection block enable series or parallel array connections to be made right in the junction box.

Options include:

• oversize terminal block which accepts conductors up to 25mm2 (AWG #4); standard terminals accept up to 6mm2 (AWG #10);
• Solarstate™ charge regulator.
