Solar Water Heating

The Heliodyne Cool Climate Solar Water Heating Packaged System is designed to operate in all regions, especially where hard water or freezing is an issue. If your region is prone to freezing, then a Closed Loop system is required. In this system, special heat transfer fluid is used to transfer heat instead of water. This process protects your system from burst pipes during the winter or cold nights. Closed Loop systems are also recommended in areas where the water is hard because mineral deposits can eventually clog the pipes.

How It Works (1) When there is sufficient heat to be drawn from the collectors, the controller automatically activates the pumps. (2) Heated solar fluid is then circulated from the collectors, (3) through the heat exchanger, where its heat is transferred to (4) water in the storage tank. (5) The solar liquid is then pumped back to the collectors to once again be reheated. This circulation loop will continue as long as there is heat to be drawn from the collectors. During times when there is little or no sun, a backup heating system will be activated to provide adequate hot water.

Systems come with the appropriate flush mount hardware. Rack mount hardware is available at an additional cost.

Upgrading your system to the Premium Package maximizes the most out of your solar hot water system. It includes an upgraded heat transfer appliance which allows you to see how well the system is performing, as well as to make adjustments and change settings. Also included is a Wi-Fi hub allowing you to access your system remotely from any computer in your home.
