Compact Fluorescent

Using compact fluorescent lightbulbs is one of the most effective ways to save energy in your home or business. However, they do contain small amounts of mercury and therefore require proper disposal. But don't despair! These bulbs still use less mercury than incandescent bulbs! See this EPA Fact Sheet for details. Please check www.earth911.org or www.lamprecycle.org for more information about how to dispose of CFLs in your area.

FYI:
According to the US Dept of Energy, incandescent lamps typically produce 12 to 15 lumens per Watt of electrical power. Compact fluorescent lamps produce at least 50 lumens per Watt, while currently available high-brightness LEDs can produce about 30 to 35 lumens per Watt.

We offer both AC (for 120VAC, "normal" electrical systems) and DC (for off-gridders or for powering from batteries) compact fluorescent lamps.
