The Vari-Fan DC powered celing fan can be operated at 12 or 24 V DC.  There is no need to order a specific voltage. It can also be run PV-direct!

The Vari-Fan comes with a matte black finish, but it can be easily painted following the instructions that come with each fan.  Estimated time to prepare and paint each fan is approximately 1 hour using one can of spray paint.   

The main body parts (the black parts) of the Vari-Fan are made from injection molded ABS plastic insuring a lightweight, very durable fan that will stand up to a variety of environments from extreme heat and cold and high humidity to very dry.  The Vari-Fan will not corrode, dent, or show minor scratches.

The 3- speed reversible motor draws 1.2 amps at high speed, .75 amp at medium speed and .5 amp at low speed. This fan is designed for surface mounting on a flat ceiling. An 8" swivel pendant mount for pitched ceilings is available as an option. They are available for 24 volt DC operation. CSA/UL approved.

Each part of the Vari-Fan is made to the highest quality giving the customer years of trouble free use.

The Vari-Fan is powered by a permanent magnet, TENV motor, with long life brushes. It draws 0.5 Amp @ 12VDC, and 0.78 Amp @ 24VDC.

At 12 VDC the 5 blade Vari-Fan will have approximately 60 RPM, moving 1500 CFM when mounted at least 8 feet above the floor in an open room.

At 24 VDC the 5 blade Vari-Fan will have approximately 120 rpm, moving 2700 CFM when mounted at least 8 feet above the floor in an open room.

In a close-mount installation the Vari-Fan blades are approximately 10 inches from the ceiling; when mounted with the accompanying down rod the Vari-Fan blades are approximately 14 inches from the ceiling.

The Vari-Fan comes with the complete hardware to mount the the fans close to the ceiling or on a down rod. The fan includes 5 blades, but the customer can install it with four or five blades since it is drilled and tapped to take both configurations. The main body parts come in black only, but the fan is very easy to paint and comes with instructions on how to paint it. The Vari-Fan main body parts are made from injection molded, glass filled ABS plastic, while the blade arms are cast metal with a shiny brass plated finish, and the blades are wood with a light oak finish on one side, and a dark oak finish on the other.
