Grid-tied The Solectria PVI13KW is a rugged, DSP-controlled PV inverter for grid-connected commercial and utility 3-phase PV systems. The core of the inverter, Solectria's proven DMGI245 distributed generation inverter, uses state-of-the-art control techniques and devices including space vector PWM, precision MPT algorithm, and low-loss Trenchgate IGBTs. With inverter efficiency up to 96% (94% including the transformer) and fully integrated packaging, the PVI13KW sets a new industry standard for efficiency, ease of installation and use, and reliability. This version does not come with the string combiner.
Solectria Corporation introduces a 13.2 kilowatt Photovoltaic (PV) Inverter for grid-connected commercial 3-phase PV systems for the North American market. The PVI13KW inverter changes direct current (DC) produced by solar panels into utility-grade alternating current (AC). Connectivity to the utility grid enables the inverter to feed power into the grid directly without batteries. The inverter is certified to UL1741. “The PVI13KW has a fully integrated design, and sets a new industry standard for efficiency, ease of installation and reliability,” said James Worden, Solectria CEO. “This new design is based on Solectria’s 14-year legacy of designing and producing high reliable power electronic components used in severe environments such as automotive, truck, bus, military and off-road applications.” The PVI13KW includes both a DC disconnect and a fused AC disconnect, an AC contactor for zero Watt standby loss, an optional built-in 7-fuse PV combiner, a premium efficiency transformer and filter, and a state-of-the-art DSP-controlled, trench-gate IGBT inverter core. The unit is fully assembled and tested at Solectria, an ISO 9001:2000 certified manufacturer. It is delivered as a single unit with nothing to connect, assemble, mount or wire other than PV leads and AC connection to the facility’s AC circuit panel. Additional Features: Multiple inverters can be used in parallel for larger PV systems, for example, 4 units to 52kW (AC). The system is designed for indoor or outdoor installations (wall, floor, roof or ground mount) and can be used for other renewable and distributed generation applications.
