Difference Between Polycrystalline and Multicrystalline

First off, total noob here. Yall are gonna love me or hate me so you might as well start picking a side. LOL

Anywho, I am also one of those "Limited budget" people that you will never get a good commission out of but if you were to eat lunch with me I am always the kind of guy who gives you the last piece of pizza. So I can't be ALL bad.

Anyways I am looking to "piece" together a little at a time a PV system. I will start off by putting together a PV panel, charge controller and batteries. I am buying ONE panel to start off with.

So I am looking at the KC130TM and the KD135GX-LP. One is Polycrystalline and the other Multicrystalline. What does this mean? Is one better than the other? or is the difference similar to a claw hammer and a roofing hammer in that they will both drive a nail so who cares?

Which is the best panel to get?

Re: Difference Between Polycrystalline and Multicrystalline

hi,

multicrystalline and polycrystalline are synonyms.  there is no difference between them.

the main difference between the two pv modules you selected is their color, size, and electrical connections on the back.

the 130 has a junction box, and the 135 has MC solarline 2 connectors on the back.

you can find more info on that here

good luck, and feel free to ask more questions on the forum.
