Simple machines

I am the director of cirriculum at my school and head of the Environmental Education staff. I would like to know of any simple machines that utilize solar, hydro, wind, power that could be created for a 5th or 6th grade level. Here is a puzzle...the challenge is to use reuseable materials for example water bottles , balloons and so forth for wind power.

Lastly is there a means to power a residence by sound? Is it called "vibratory harmonics " Does any one know?

In Homepower Magazine issue #71 there is an article about a teeny little wind generator called the Pico Turbine that is made from pieces of paper and pencils. This would be a very inexpesive yet working model of a wind generator. You can either order the backissue of the magazine at homepower.com or you may be able to download just that article although I could find no reference to it on the website.

I have never heard anything about "vibratory harmonics" although I must say that i am somewhat skeptical already.
