This five day course will contain classroom lecture on advanced PV topics as well as hand on lab and installation work on battery based and utility-interactive PV systems. The final day is devoted to National Electric Code review in preparation for the NABCEP certification test. By the end of this third class in the professional series, the participant should be able to properly site, size and install a grid tied or battery based stand alone PV system. This class is ISP Accredited and counts toward the NABCEP educational requirement. More information about NABCEP certification can be found on the NABCEP website.
Prerequisite: Participants must have completed the AltE PV 301: Basic PV and Site Assessment AND PV 302: Intermediate PV Design classes in order to enroll. If you have a certificate of completion of a five or six day course from an ISP accredited program or NABCEP Approved Provider or if you have passed the NABCEP Entry Level Certification of Knowledge Exam, please provide your certificate and we can accept that as the prerequisite for our PV 301/302 class. Or if you have at least two years of design and installation of PV or solar thermal systems, please send us documentation and we can count that toward your prerequisite as well.
The national exam for NABCEP PV Installation Certification is September 12th. PV 303 in August may be a great review before the test!
