AltE 101: Renewable Energy Basics

Tue, Jun 23

There’s a lot of buzz out there about renewable energy, but it’s hard to decipher where to begin in your own home. Our popular Renewable Energy Basics Workshop gives you an all around understanding of the renewable energy technologies that are available and will help you make sense of which ones are appropriate and best for your situation. Once you have identified the technologies you would like to pursue, a more detailed class can help you investigate further into the technical details of each - although we wish every detail could be covered in a three hour class! Whether you are looking for residential solutions or alternative technology for your small business you’ll get up to date industry technology and the information you need to focus your hard earned dollars in the most cost effective way. You’ll leave class with a great packet of information, a good idea of what technologies to further explore and a renewed sense of enthusiasm for renewable energy! Special discounts on selected books and products are available to our seminar attendees.

We encourage you to bring a copy of your utility bill as we will review household power usage issues during the class.

Instructors

Kristen Ferguson
Kristen has a combination background of Mechanical Engineering and classroom teaching. Her interest in renewable technologies developed when she lived in Benin, West Africa in the Peace Corps. Kristen is an example of someone who firmly believes in the DIY mantra, "I can do that!" and is pleased to teach others who feel the same. Kristen has been with the AltE team since 2005 and is now in the process of expanding the offerings of the AltE University so we can spread renewable energy education one person at a time, just a little faster!
